Shadow Protocol: Multi functional scanner

Another design I was tasked with during the internal project 'Shadow Protocol' at MOOD was a handheld scanner that the player will closely interact with during the game.

The device serves three main functions related to detecting anomalies in our reality and enemies emerging from the Void. Just like weapons, scanning devices often take up a lot of screen space in a first-person game and deserve every bit of love and attention.

The game takes place in the late eighties to early nineties, which adds a very specific aesthetic to the military electronics. We opted for spring-loaded attachments to emphasize this low-tech quality within an otherwise futuristic design.

The detail process of the final model was sped up by using parts from my Big Medium Small 3D pack 'ARMOR.'
'ARMOR' is a complete vehicle design 3D kit and was a collaboration between Big Medium Small and me, available now here: https://www.bigmediumsmall.com/armor"
